These drawings were collected by Capt. R. Miller from the Sioux Indians at Wounded Knee Creek, South Dakota on January 8^th 1891 (The Battle of Wounded Knee took place December 29^th 1890). They were re-discovered in the Buffalo Bill Museums archives in 1939. Reprinted by the museum into a portfolio in 1961. Hopefully by recreating these images on leather we help rekindle the fire of recognition for a people who for centuries roamed freely over this vast land as the first Americans!
