William Frederick Cody, called "Buffalo Bill" (1846-1917. Nineteenth Century Buffalo Hunter, U.S. Army Scout, Pony Express rider, and showman. He began his own wild west show in 1883. His last public appearance was in November of 1916, just two months before his death.
